“Jersey Shore” Cast Saddened by Damage from Hurricane Sandy
By now, we’ve all seen photos of the devastation that occurred on the Seaside Heights area of New Jersey by Hurricane Sandy. So many are horrified by the destruction, including the cast of “Jersey Shore,” who shot their MTV reality show in the area.
The T-shirt store featured prominently on the show suffered heavy damage, as shown by this photo from TMZ. The cast members have been tweeting their thoughts over the last couple of days.
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: “Crying over the damage the jersey shore and my town received. Legit boats are on the roads I used to drive. I cannot believe this. Bubbas and lucky arcade are no more but the shore store is standing but major damage.”
Samantha “Sammi” Giancola: “For all the people that have gone through this hurricane and destruction, my heart goes out to you. … Seeing seaside and what has happened to my hometown is beyond devastating. I have no words.”
Vinny Guadagnino: “My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone who was affected by this disaster in Seaside and all across the Northeast. I’m here to support in any way I can.”
Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi: “Sandy destroyed Seaside — our second home. It’s devastating to see our boardwalk and favorite spots ruined. My prayers go out to everyone affected by the storm.”
MTV, the network behind “Jersey Shore,” released this statement:
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of those affected by the hurricane, especially our friends and business owners in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, who are now part of the MTV family. MTV is actively exploring ways to best help with the recovery efforts, and in the meantime we are encouraging everyone to donate to the American Red Cross’ disaster relief efforts.”
It’s going to take a lot of time, work and money to clean up the damage to Seaside Heights and the state of New Jersey. We’re praying for everyone affected.
