Tim Tebow is not the most liked player in professional football, probably because he comes across to many as a bit cocky and self-righteous. This was proven by a new poll that shows he’s not too popular with his peers.
Tebow may have a famous name and some passionate fans, but that doesn’t change the fact that he’s spent most of his time with the New York Jets warming the bench. His dismal record for this season is two pass completions for 32 yards and 76 yards rushing.
Maybe that’s why a Sports Illustrated poll of 180 players named Tebow the most overrated player in the NFL by a whopping 34%. Tebow’s teammate Mark Sanchez came in a distant second with 8% of the vote. Does this mean that the rank-and-file players are less than impressed by the glamour boys of the Big Apple?
Other players making the list included Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo, Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick, and Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
What all of them have in common is that their performance on the field hasn’t lived up to their media hype. What their fans and teammates would rather see is less talk and more action from these over-publicized, overpaid players.
