Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon are officially engaged.

Whitney Houston’s “kids” seem to have found a soft spot for one another. While Bobbi and Nick aren’t really related, they did grow up together as Nick was taken in by the late singer when he was younger, but he was never officially adopted. Houston often referred to him as her godson.

When rumors started popping up that the couple had gotten engaged, they shot those down, but did confirm that they were indeed dating. But now the cat’s out of the bag as a preview from the Houston’s upcoming reality show on Lifetime, The Houstons: On Our Own, shows Bobbi announcing, “We’re engaged!” to the family.

An engagement should be something to celebrate but when it’s between people who are practically relatives? Not everyone was pleased, including Pat Houston, Whitney’s manager, sister-in-law, and executor of her estate, who called the news, “Unacceptable.”

Wait, what was that? Reality show? Yes, they are going to have a reality show about coping (and cashing in on) Whitney’s death. This isn’t something that just popped up either. The family was in talks to do a reality show just three months after Houston accidentally drowned in a hotel bathroom before the Grammys.

The Houstons: On Our Own will focus a lot more on Bobbi and Nick’s engagement. The show premieres October 24^th. Will you be watching? We sure will.
