Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman call it quits after 30 years together.
What is it with funny couples this past month? First Will Arnett and Amy Poehler and now one of Hollywood’s oldest and brightest couples…Love, do you even exist anymore?
DeVito and Perlman met in 1970 after she went to see her friend in a Broadway play, “The Shrinking Bride.” She was intrigued by DeVito and 12 years later they married in 1982. Over the years they had three children who are all now adults, Daniel, 25, Grace, 27, and Lucy, 29.
Most will remember the couple for their work together in the now TV Land favorite, Taxi and the 90’s kids’ classic, Matilda. They not only acted alongside one another, but were a hit behind the scenes together. Jersey Films is the production company they founded that is responsible for fan favorites, Pulp Fiction and Garden State.
Today DeVito stars in FX’s out there comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, while Perlman continues to work doing guest spots on shows like Wilfred and Hot in Cleveland. But we probably won’t see the couple together again on screen for a while.
A rep for DeVito has confirmed the split, but hasn’t given a reason why. What a day for love.
