Jay-Z has been like a kid at a candy store the past 8 days. The rap mogul has had the opportunity to not only perform in a one man show in  front of 19,000 people each night, but he’s been able to do so at the new Barclays Center for the Brooklyn Nets, a team he partly owns. Jay-Z’s biggest thrill is that the center is in Brooklyn where he was born and raised. 

Throughout each of the shows, Jay-Z reminisced about different areas he lived in throughout the tough New York borough, and even told the crowd that for the night…everyone was from Brooklyn. Jay-Z took things even further when he decided to become a true New Yorker and hop on the subway to his last show Saturday night. 

The multi-millionaire was surrounded by shocked faces when he hopped on the R train with his security. One passenger posted a photo to his instagram (rareunlimited) with the caption. 

“So I’m in the train minding my own business and Jay-Z walks by. Wtf.”

Who wouldn’t have lost their mind? Jay-Z was clearly just enjoying his hometown. The superstar made even more people happy that night when he surprised attendees at the last concert with a performance from his wife, the Queen Bey.  

When Jay finished his verse on the “03 Bonnie and Clyde” song, he paused for a second, and told the crowd, “We just getting started.” All of a sudden, Beyonce’s hit song “Diva” begins to play, and the cameras zoomed in on her silhouette in the doorway. 

Beyonce then strutted out on the stage, and simply stood there in her Brooklyn Nets hat while the crowd went wild. She begin doing her usual dancing and singing that always captivates the crowd. She also performed “Crazy in Love”, but before that was sure to give a birthday shout out to best friend Gwyneth Paltrow, who just turned 40. 

During her “Crazy in Love” performance, Jay-Z missed his cue to come out, and returned halfway during his verse. Once she left the stage, he explained that he was so busy watching that he forgot it was his time to rap. He also said, he had to “bring out BK to BK…well BKC now”.

Beyonce came out again at the end of the show for Jay’s last song “Forever Young”. The two sang to each other, and even embraced with a small kiss before she left the stage. It was a special night.
