Shakira has shared a very special moment in her life with the rest of the world….

There never seems to be a shortage of celebrity pregnancies, and today the sexy singer made it official that she’s going to be a first-time mom!

Latin pop star Shakira made this announcement on her Facebook page: “As some of you may know, Gerard and I are very happy awaiting the arrival of our first baby!” The daddy-to-be is Spanish soccer player Gerard Piqué.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer has had to juggle her schedule due to the happy event. “We have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days. This means I will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival, but I’m sure this weekend in Las Vegas will be spectacular!”

This news comes on the heels of the announcement that Shakira will be replacing Christina Aguilera on the fourth season of “The Voice.” Aguilera is taking a year off to concentrate on her singing career, which hasn’t been so hot lately.
