Robin Roberts is definitely a fighter who can be viewed as an inspiration to many Americans struggling with various diseases. The 51 year old host of ‘Good Morning America’ survived her battle with breast cancer back in 2007.

Earlier this year, Roberts announced that she had been diagnosed with yet another unfortunate disease, Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), which reduces the number of cells in the body, increasing the risk of bleeding, infection, and anemia related problems.

Today, Roberts is undergoing a bone marrow transplant from her sister, Sally-Ann Roberts, who is a perfect match. Roberts has been in the hospital for the past 11 days preparing for the surgery, and has garnered support from numerous fans and of course her GMA family who continuously cheers her on.

In order to show how appreciative she is, Roberts has released a video from the hospital bed where her surgery will soon take place, thanking everyone for their encouragement.

“This journey is as much about the mind as it is the body. Your thoughts. Thoughts are so powerful. You’ve got to change the way you think in order to change the way you feel.  And let me just say this lastly, I feel the love and I thank you for it. Thank you.”
