Heidi Klum has been in the news quite a bit lately, over her divorce from Seal and the new season of “Project Runway.” What all do we know about this blonde beauty?
-Klum was born in West Germany in 1973. In 1992, she won an international modeling contest that landed her a contract with Metropolitan Models New York.
-In 1998, Klum appeared on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. She was a Victoria’s Secret “Angel” for 13 years and hosted the brand’s annual fashion show four times between 2002 and 2009.
-Klum’s been married twice, to photographer Ric Pipino from 1997 to 2002 and singer Seal from 2005 to 2012.
-In 2009, photographer Ian Rankin devoted an entire coffee table book entitled “Heidilicious” to images of the supermodel.
-Her earnings of $20 million placed Klum in second place behind Gisele on Forbes’ 2011 list of World’s Top Earning Models.
-The 5’9.5 supermodel is the mom of four children, Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou Samuel; the last three by Seal. Leni was fathered by Klum’s former boyfriend Flavio Briatore, but was legally adopted by Seal.
-In 2009, Klum had her named legally changed to Heidi Samuel, but changed it back to Klum after filing for divorce from Seal in early 2012.
-Klum has been host, judge, and executive producer of Bravo’s reality show “Project Runway” since 2004.
-This week, Klum admitted she had been dating her bodyguard Martin Kristen since the split from Seal.
