Chad Johnson has officially been charged with battery for his domestic dispute with ex Evelyn Lozada.

Last month it appeared Chad and Evelyn were lovebirds who might make their honeymoon phase last for years. That wasn’t the case after Evelyn confronted Chad about a condom receipt she found in his car. Their words match turned violent when Chad headbutted Evelyn. She then called police. Chad was arrested that night, and later released on a $2,500 bond.

Since then Chad has been dropped from the Miami Dolphins and is now a free agent (but really, who wants him now?), has refused to sign the divorce papers because he claims he still loves Evelyn, and even went as far as getting her face tattooed. That’s either the sweetest sentiment he’s done so far, or he just got himself a permanent reminder of what he’s lost.

And just when you think things can’t get any more interesting with these two, today Chad was officially charged with misdemeanor battery for the headbutting.

His arraignment is set for Thursday morning. Reports say he’s looking at pleading not guilty. If convicted, he could face up to a year in the big house. Might be a good thing for him since his days in the NFL are looking grimmer by the day.
