Gabby Douglas, Natalie Portman, Kerry Washington and Scarlett Johansson to Speak at DNC Tonight!
While it will be hard to outdo the dazzling speech of First Lady Michelle Obama, the second night of the 2012 Democratic National Convention won’t lack star power. The evening’s scheduled speakers include an Olympic gold medalist and three of Hollywood’s brightest female stars.
16-year-old Gabby Douglas won’t actually be delivering a speech, since she will be leading the pledge of allegiance. Despite her amazing accomplishments at the summer Olympics, Douglas came under fire from commentators over her hair and her leotards that were not sufficiently “patriotic.”
Both Oscar winner Natalie Portman and nominee Scarlett Johansson are outspoken Democrats, so it’s no surprise that they would have something to say about the upcoming election. Kerry Washington is currently playing a Washington insider on the TV series “Scandal,” and her character is having a clandestine affair with the fictional GOP president! In a year when the women’s vote could sway the outcome of the election, all three can be expected to appeal to the female portion of the electorate.
Can any of these ladies outshine tonight’s headliner, former POTUS Bill Clinton? Tune in to find out!
