Chris Brown gives back to the community by spending time at a Domestic Violence Center in Los Angeles.
Yes, Brown will never escape what he did to Rihanna in 2009, the night before the music world came together to celebrate at the Grammys, or the recent nightclub altercations between him and Drake, but that doesn’t mean the boy can’t try to right his wrongs.
The most of the time dancer and sometimes singer spent some time last week in LA at the Jenesse Domestic Violence Center where he and his mother frequent. This time Brown went in alone to give back as part of the center’s “Back to School Fall Festival.” The center’s main focus is to educate the public about domestic abuse, and Brown was there to talk about dating violence, since he knows about that.
This time it was all smiles as the kids got to chat with Brown and receive much needed school supplies. Brown noted on his time spent at Jenesse, “It’s in my heart to show my fans, my friends and family and the families at Jenesse who stood by me, that they were right to give me another chance,” Brown said in Gossipwelove.com, “I’m working hard to make them proud.”
Another person beaming about Brown’s involvement with the center, other than himself and the kids, is 8 time Grammy Award winner, Anita Baker. She spoke volumes of Brown, saying, “Historically, in my generation, all of my heroes and heroines have had issues and problems. We all do. Chris Brown is brilliant. That cat is crazy brilliant and I wish him the best.”
It appears that Brown has made some huge steps since 2009, but he’s got a long way to go since he still has that temper that leads to fights with Drake. He should probably look into more community work to keep his mind busy.
