Nicki Minaj is reportedly gearing up to become the newest judge seated at the “American Idol” judging table, but we’re taking the rumor with a grain of salt.

An unnamed source told US Weekly that the singer/rapper will definitely be joining the show. “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it. A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”

Another source told the site that the deal is “100% confirmed.”

If it’s true that the powers behind “Idol” are considering hiring Minaj, maybe they’d better take a close look at her recent behavior. The performer does not take criticism well…so she may not be the best at giving it either. 

After being slammed by critics for cancelling her performance at the U.K.’s V Festival due to “strained vocal cords,” Minaj launched into an expletive-laden series of tweets. Here are some of them:

“I am so thankful to my true fans who understand WHY I couldn’t play VFestival & WHY I can’t play Dublin. Absolutely gutted. However, if u have anything negative to say to me, please Eat S– And Die – I am human.”

“I was in jeopardy of losing my voice entirely and needing surgery on my vocal chord (sic). If u can’t understand that, your mother’s a WHORE!!!! I will NOT let you people make me feel horrible for a f– HEALTH issue! That’s what got me in this mess! I shldve (should have) listened 2 the doctor!”

“Like people are hitting me telling me I shldve (should have) mimed. No!… All you do is rip people apart and when they’re dead & gone u won’t lose a wink of sleep. go F– Yourselves.”

Since working for “Idol” is a stressful, drama-filled gig, Minaj might be a tad bit too emotional for the job. Plus, she’s an awesome performer…but not one of the world’s greatest singers. We’re just saying….
