It looks like the honeymoon is over for Bobby Brown. The R&B singer, who wed Alicia Etheridge in June, has checked himself into rehab as part of a plea deal for his March DUI arrest.

Brown’s attorney Christopher Brown gave this statement to People:

“Mr. Brown takes his agreement very seriously and admitted himself three weeks after concluding his honeymoon in Mexico during a break from the New Edition tour … Bobby is doing well and receiving services that comply with his agreement with the State of California.”

The plea deal for Brown’s March 26th arrest specifies 90 days of inpatient alcohol treatment and three years informal probation. The bust came just a month after the shocking death of his ex-wife Whitney Houston.

Current wife Alicia passed on her good wishes for her new husband in this statement to People: “Bobby’s children and loved ones are very proud of him. We appreciate his fans’ prayers and well wishes. Bobby is mentally in a good place.”

One person who doesn’t seem to think Brown is in such a “good place” is his daughter by Houston, Bobbi Kristina. When asked by TMZ whether her dad was “rising above” his problems with alcohol, the 19-year-old replied, “‘Rise above is not the word you should use. Not at all.”
