Evelyn Lozada, the Basketball Wives reality star, is speaking out for the first time since she was head butted by her NFL star husband, Chad Johnson, this weekend. The pair have only been married a month and it appears the honeymoon stage is definitely over.

The incident seemed to have started after Lozada approached Johnson about a receipt for a box of condoms she found in his car. Things must’ve escalated since he head butted her and caused a “pretty good sized” laceration. She was treated at a nearby hospital outside of Miami, while Johnson was arrested for the domestic dispute.

Lozada finally broke her silence and issued the following:

“It is with great sadness and much trepidation that I release this statement addressing the domestic violence incident that happened this past Saturday. I am deeply disappointed that Chad has failed to take responsibility for his actions and made false accusations against me, it is my sincere hope that he seeks the help he needs to overcome his troubles.”

Adding, “Domestic violence is not OK and hopefully my taking a stand will help encourage other women to break their silence as well. I’m grateful to my family, friends and fans for the outpouring of support during this difficult time.”

On top of being the latest bad guy in the media for violence against women, Johnson can kiss his football season goodbye. He was recently taken in by the Miami Dolphins, but they don’t want him now and terminated his contract just 24 hours after his arrest. So…it looks like Johnson might be heading to porn soon judging by what he said last week.

He might have to since he no longer has football or his Vh1 show either. Ev and Ocho was slated to premiere September 3^rd, but the network pulled it saying, “Due to the unfortunate events over the weekend and the seriousness of the allegations, VH1 is pulling the series Ev and Ocho from its schedule and has no current plans of airing it.”

For now Johnson is free thanks to a $2,500 bond, and Lozado is mourning the loss of her brother in law who passed away last night from cancer complications.
