Busy Beyonce: Partners with UN, Plans to Direct, Congratulates Gabby
Beyonce is proving that motherhood isn’t slowing her down one bit by partnering with the United Nations, making plans to direct a film, and even taking time out to congratulate US Olympians.
The Queen B posted on her Tumblr last week, “Leave your footprint on 19 August 2012.” No, it’s not a new album, just an effort to improve the world. She has teamed up with the United Nations in a global PSA to tell people to get involved. She and Diane Warren are donating a video “I Was Here” that is set to be filmed at the General Assembly Hall in New York. Said video will then premiere August 19th on World Humanitarian Day, with hopes that it will touch 1 billion people.
Helping the world, and documenting her own. Much like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, the LA Times reported that Beyonce will be releasing a film that showcases her both on and off stage. However, she will be taking a more hands on approach to her project by directing and producing the whole thing.
Maybe she’ll be able to include her watching the London Olympics and cheering on Gabby Douglas, the 16 year old US gymnast who took home the gold in the all-around. Beyonce, much like the rest of America, was excited to see Gabby win and even posted a special message to the young champion.
“A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS TO 16 YEAR OLD OLYMPIC GOLD MEDALIST GABBY DOUGLAS – WOW – WHAT A THRILL TO WATCH YOU TAKE THIS GOLD! I CAN TELL YOU’VE BEEN WORKING HARD FOR SO LONG – ENJOY THIS MOMENT, ITS YOURS. THANK YOU FOR INSPIRING ALL OF US! LOVE, B”
So if anyone ever says they don’t have time to do anything because they’re a parent, tell them to take a look at Beyonce. Girl is on a roll!
