Robsten Scandal Complicates Press for “Breaking Dawn: Part 2”
Robert Pattinson will have to face the music soon enough….
Normally, when a blockbuster movie is about to be released, the stars are expected to make nice with the press and talk about how fabulous the movie’s going to be. That could be a bit awkward when the film’s two main stars are a couple—and one of them has cheated on the other.
After discovering your love has been unfaithful, most guys are allowed to lurk at home, never shave, drink beer and eat pizza, the usual heartsick-dude behavior. Alas, things don’t work that way when you’re half of a superstar couple, and you’re expected to go out and promote your new movie.
In the wake of Kristen Stewart’s admitted infidelity with director Rupert Sanders, her co-star beau Robert Pattinson has been laying low, reportedly hiding out at pal Reese Witherspoon’s posh Ojai spread. However, the actor will have to show his pretty face in public a few days from now, since he’s scheduled to appear at the NYC premiere of his new film “Cosmopolis” on August 13.
As if that’s not bad enough, both Stewart and Pattinson are contractually obligated to do press for “Breaking Dawn: Part 2,” the last installment of the vampire saga coming out in November.
Summit, the film’s studio, has no plans to let the star-crossed pair play hooky, as Summit’s president of worldwide marketing, Nancy Kirkpatrick, told Entertainment Weekly, “While it is studio policy not to comment on the personal lives of actors, Summit is moving full-steam ahead and looking forward to this November’s opening of ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2.’”
Kirkpatrick added, “We are confident that the film delivers amazing entertainment for our passionate fans and general audience alike.”
It’s three long months until November, and by then, Robsten could have reunited and be putting on their happiest smiles for the premiere of the film. If they haven’t, the press tour for “Breaking Dawn: Part 2” will be very painful for everyone connected to the movie.
