Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love has a long and colorful history of getting herself in trouble on Twitter. After being sued by a designer she dissed via tweets, the Hole rocker should have learned her lesson, but she’s been up to her old tricks, and this time the target was much-younger pop star Lana Del Rey.
Longtime Nirvana fan Del Rey released her own version of Cobain’s “Heart-Shaped Box,” which did not sit well with his widow. In a series of tweets reported by NME, Love reminded Del Rey of the song’s origins and inspiration.
“You do know the song is about my Vagina right? ‘Throw down your umbilical noose so i can climb right back,’ umm… On top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina I contributed. So umm next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you?”
Since Courtney Love’s vagina is one of the last things any sane person wants to think about, it’s doubtful that Del Rey will be taking her suggestion.
Perhaps in an attempt to avoid any more trouble, Love deleted the earlier posts and later tweeted, “You are gorgeous and very talented, it was all in good humor love, it is true however bwahaa xc.”
Please—someone stop this woman before she tweets again!
