Fred Willard went on Jimmy Fallon this week and was okay joking around about his recent run in with the law.
Last week Willard was caught with his hand down his pants in a Hollywood adult theater. After a quick encounter with the law, Willard was relieved to know that he won’t be prosecuted for his actions, but instead has to attend a class for two weeks.
When Willard hit Fallon’s late night couch, he took the hosts jokes in stride and even made some himself. Fallon went on to ask what movie Willard could’ve possibly been watching.
“Was it ‘The Firm’? … Was it ‘Free Willy’? … Was it ‘Anaconda’?”
The actor was fast to respond, “Sadly, it was ‘Get Shorty.”
Through all this, Willard’s wife has stood by his side and he did make light of that as well. “This is the last time I’m going to listen to my wife when she says, ‘Why don’t you go out and see a movie.”
He then got a bit serious and talked about how the whole thing has been embarrassing and added, “Nothing happened. I did nothing wrong. Everything’s being sorted out as we speak. I have great respect for authorities – when we need a policeman, god bless them, they’re there.”
So it’s cool that Willard can laugh this whole thing off in the end. The laughs are probably made a lot easier since he’s not charged with anything.
