Basketball Wives’ star Jennifer Williams has decided to drop the lawsuit against fellow cast mate, Nia Crooks.
After the slap heard around the (VH1) world, Williams was quick to press charges and make claims that she had serious injuries and psychological damage due to the altercation. Even when her fellow “Wives” wanted her to just drop it, Williams stood tall and wouldn’t budge on the matter, believing it set an example against violence.
Now she’s singing a different tune, and it appears she’s had a change of heart.
Nia’s lawyer, Javier Solano, told TMZ:
“We have always maintained that the frivolous lawsuit brought by Jennifer Williams was nothing short of a last-gasp attempt to maintain her dwindling relevance on the ‘Basketball Wives.’.. Nia is happy to put this issue behind her and start looking ahead to work on her own career.”
The only reasoning anyone can see for the lawsuit disappearing comes from what a rep told Juicy Mag Online:
“Jennifer didn’t want to deal with more legal troubles since she just got divorced from Eric Williams and is dealing with her repossessed Bentley.” Jennifer is “already dealing with her difficult divorce and did not feel that it was necessary to continue to pursue civil action [against Crooks].”
Despite where the decision came from, one person could care less, Nia Crooks. She’s now off the hook.
