Tom Cruise is enjoying his first post-split visitation with daughter Suri, but he’s seriously unhappy over some press reports claiming he’s a not a good father to the six-year-old.

Earlier, today, Cruise’s lawyer Bert Fields fired off an angry email to the tabloid Life & Style, blasting the magazine for what he called “a bogus cover headline that Suri has been ‘ABANDONED BY HER DAD’.”

“That, as anyone knows who saw their photos together yesterday and today, is a disgusting, vicious lie,” Fields stated. “Until this week, Tom was shooting a film on location, but he spoke to Suri every day.”

“He’s with Suri right now; and he was with her the day before Life & Style trumpeted their cruelly false accusation. Tom dearly loves Suri and the last thing he would ever do is abandon her.”

Meanwhile, Cruise is spending some quality time with his little girl, taking her on a wild ride through NYC, dodging paparazzi on their way to a heliport at 12th Ave. From there, the two were off on a helicopter ride to New Jersey.

Witnesses report that Cruise’s driver ran through a half-dozen red lights in an attempt to lose a platoon of paps that included at least ten cars, plus a few bicyclists and motorcycles. Luckily, there were no accidents, but one van was pulled over by the cops.

This time together has to be bittersweet for Cruise, as this is the first time he’s been able to see Suri since his estranged wife Katie Holmes filed for divorce a little over two weeks ago. The 50-year-old actor just wrapped shooting on the action film “Oblivion.”
