Tom Cruise can look on the bright side as far as his career goes as he tops the Forbes list as the highest paid actor in the game. What a great way to celebrate turning the big 5-0.

This may come as a surprise to most since it seems like Cruise isn’t in as many films as he was in the 90’s. He revisited his role in the Mission Impossible franchise with Ghost Protocol last year which did well, but then went out on a limb to star in the musical Rock of Ages (sorry, that movie looked like the newest addition to Wal-Mart’s Five Dollar Bin). But alas, despite lesser roles, his agents sure know how to do their job because Cruise earned way more than second place holder, Leonardo DiCaprio.

In the past 12 months Cruise earned an outstanding $75 million. Take into account not only movie roles, but royalties and so on. This makes him worth about $250 million to date.

All this will come in handy when he and Katie Holmes hit the courtroom and take on their recently announced divorce. Someone needs to support little Suri Cruise’s fashion.

So a happy birthday to the man who truly shows us the money!
