Jack Osbourne and the whole Osbourne family should be experiencing one of the happiest years ever, since he became a new dad in the spring. Instead, the 26-year-old son of Ozzy and Sharon Osboune has been diagnosed with a serious disease, and his loving mom is devastated.
Sharon Osbourne fought back tears as she appeared on The Talk to discuss her son’s diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Co-host Julie Chen called Jack “an amazing guy, he’s very courageous,” and asked, “What else do you want to say Mrs. O?”
After pausing to compose herself, the Osbourne matriarch replied:
“He’s great – he’s doing really, really good and I want to thank everyone for all their texts and goodwill and love they send to us.”
On Sunday, Jack Osbourne made a public announcement about the MS diagnosis, an autoimmune disease that can affect muscle control, balance, vision and thought. This news comes a short two months after Osbourne and fiancée Lisa Stelly welcomed their first child, daughter Pearl Clementine.
Osbourne admitted his feelings about the diagnosis to People magazine:
“I was just angry and frustrated and kept thinking, ‘Why now?’ I’ve got a family and that’s what’s supposed to be the most important thing.”
Fans of Osbourne have been sending their good wishes via Twitter. He showed his gratefulness by responding:
“Thank you all so much for the kind and inspirational words. It means a lot. Adapt and overcome.”
Jack Osbourne will appear on The Talk Wednesday to discuss this unfortunate news and his hopes for the future.
