Rodney King’s long time friend is speaking out about King’s untimely death, and how he doesn’t believe what King’s fiancé Cynthia Kelley is saying about what went down.
Feldman worked with King for years when King was doing rounds in the celebrity boxing circuit. Being close, Feldman told TMZ that his friend was about to end his engagement with Kelley because things weren’t going great. Simply put, the relationship had turned “volatile.” Sadly we’ll never know if these claims are true since King passed away in his backyard pool on Sunday.
King’s fiancé told police she heard him banging on the window at about 5AM and then heard when he fell into their pool. She also reported that King had been smoking and drinking heavily the day before. The police had no reason to not believe her story, but Feldman isn’t buying it and after some statements, Feldman may have a right to believe what he does.
Dee Schnepf, a neighbor of King’s said she heard him crying prior to the splash. It appears King was upset by something before his death. Could the beating on the window that Kelley claims happened have been King trying to get back in the house after a fight with his fiancé? If she would’ve let him in, would he have died?
Another thing that makes this odd is that Kelley claims she couldn’t save King because she was a bad swimmer. Now she didn’t say she couldn’t swim at all, and when your loved one is in danger, there’s an instinct that takes over and you do what needs to be done to save them, right?
Rodney King’s death comes just months after the 20th anniversary of the LA Riots. He will forever be cemented in the history of the City of Angels. As to how he died…Whether an accident or something or someone else, we’ll have to wait until the coroner’s report is in.
