Djimon Hounsou breaks his silence….

Is the fairy-tale marriage of a handsome actor and his stunning fashion designer mate on the rocks? That’s what the New York Daily News reported last week, and now the pair is fighting back at the rumors.

One of those oh-so-reliable “unnamed sources” reported that the marriage of Djimon Hounsou and Kimora Lee Simmons was on the rocks due to the latter’s lavish lifestyle. The “source” stated, “Kimora lives as if she’s the Queen of England.”

The story also claimed that Hounsou stormed out of the couple’s home following a “big fight over money,” and that Simmons’ hip-hop mogul ex-husband Russell Simmons had decided to “stop funding the pair’s lifestyle.”

The paper also printed the claims of Sudanese-Egyptian author Kola Boof, who purportedly had a fling with the “Gladiator” star. Boof allegedly sent an email saying, “I am the reason that they broke up” and that she “slept with Djimon Hounsou throughout his marriage to Kimora Lee Simmons.”

Now Hounsou is coming out swinging, declaring that these reports are false.

“I do not know, nor have I ever met this person. To that extent any and all claims are totally fabricated, and for the press to be spreading these lies is irresponsible on their part. I am a man of integrity and would never betray my wife or my family.”

So are the two kaput or are they just the victims of unfounded rumors? Kimora Lee Simmons had recently been seen partying in Vegas minus her hubby, and adding fuel to the rumors was Simmons’ decision to put her six-bedroom, eight-bath Beverly Hills country home on the market for $1.2 million. Does this mean she has a cash flow problem because of high living?

Simmons responded to these claims viaTwitter:

“Wow, I put 1 of several properties I own (+ DONT live in) on the market & now apparently my whole life is fallin apart?! Smdh. Rumors, Rumors…”

Hounsou and Simmons wed in 2009 and have a three-year-old son, Kenzo Lee.
