Angelina Jolie, Keira Knightley and Taylor Swift use their celebrity power to give back to those in need. The two in demand actresses and the loveable Country star put their lives on hold to serve a purpose.

The Seeking a Friend for the End of the World star, Keira Knightley, recently headed to Africa as part of UNICEF’s Soccer Aid 2012. While there, Knightley met with children and their families. One in particular posed with her for a photo. This was a very young boy named Idris who was diagnosed with polio when he was one, leaving him paralyzed below the waist. Knightley was there to help bring awareness and raise money for important immunizations and vaccinations for children all around the world.

Angelina Jolie was also in Africa doing her part with fiancé Brad, and despite rumors…The trip wasn’t Brad’s birthday gift to his lady. They were there to meet with 1-200th Infantry Battalion.

Jolie not only made her way through Egypt, but also took some time to hit Ecuador back in April. The Ecuador trip was the A-lister’s first since being selected as Special Envoy of UNHCR High Commissioner Antonio Guterres. Those recent journeys and her nonstop charity work led Jolie to become the face and voice of World Refugee Day 2012, which is June 20^th. 

But it’s not just big screen superstars that know how to give back, representing for the singers is Taylor Swift. Of course Swift gives back because she’s known to be a sweetheart, and now she’s won an award for being just that. Another one to add to the pile she’s built up. Officials of the Northwest Tennessee Disaster Services awarded the songstress with the 2012 Honorary Star of Compassion Award. Congrats to the starlet! 

They’re talented, beautiful, and take time out of their lives to assist others in need. Keira, Angelina and Taylor definitely make you want to do more with your own life, don’t they?
