Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves Say “I Do!” (Details of the Big Day!)
Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves made their six year relationship official this weekend with a three day, wedding event in Texas. Alright, alright, alright!
Back on Christmas of 2011, McConaughey knew how not to lose his girl in 10 days, and popped the big question to Shear Genius host, Camila. She’d be insane not to have said yes because, well…that beautiful piece of man is a sight without a shirt. Oh, and they have two beautiful kids together. Instead of taking years to plan the day, it took only months and they tied the knot on June 9th at their home in Texas.
At the rehearsal dinner Friday night, a friend joked (or so we hope) that McConaughey “still had time to run.” The A-lister didn’t even joke back and instead noted how he was ready to make it happen, which they did the next day.
According to a source, the ceremony itself had everyone in tears, including celebrity attendees; Woody Harrelson, Jim Toth, Reese Witherspoon, Meg Ryan and John Cougar Mellencamp. It may’ve had something to do with the way the vows were exchanged. Instead of letting everyone hear their love and devotion, the pair opted to whisper their pre-written odes into one another’s ear…Aww! If that doesn’t make you wish he’d divorce her today and marry you, then you don’t know romance.
The real party took place in air conditioned tents with an array of food and entertainment. Camila’s Brazilian culture was brought in with rotisserie-style Brazilian meats and a band that played not only pop, but Brazilian rock as well. But the cherry on top for music had to be Mellencamp singing the wedding song. Oh, and what about the cake? Sorry…there was none. It was just a variety of sweets.
The party went on into the night and into Sunday morning and with this being Monday, we wonder if there are any hardcore party guests still wondering around the grounds there?
Even though it was McConaughey who popped the question, it was smart for Camila to get that ring on his finger before even more legions of women throw themselves at him once his new movie, Magic Mike, comes out.
