Rita Ora Praises Jay-Z: “Jay Cares About His Artists, and People’s Feelings”
Rita Ora has a lot to be excited about! The Albanian singer has a number one single, she’s partied with some of the hottest celebs in music, and she’s in the media daily for her highly-praised fashion. But none of this would have been possible without the help of Jay-Z.
Ora was signed by Jay-Z to Roc Nation, and is now known as his newest protege. If you check the history of the label….not many artists get signed, so it’s definitely an honor.
Rita Ora is not taking this privilege lightly. In fact she gives Jay-Z credit whenever an opportunity arises:
Jay cares about his artists, his business and about people’s feelings. That’s what sets him apart from everyone else. They gave me three years to do my album: two years to find myself and a year to record it. People don’t usually do that nowadays, because, realistically there’s no money, but I guess he just believed in me.

Ora isn’t the first to praise Jay-Z. J. Cole, another fairly new artist on Roc Nation (although he’s also been signed for quite a few years) has given the utmost praise to Jay as well…calling him his mentor.
One thing I appreciate about Jay-Z is he let me do it my way and let me figure it out…he never compromised or interfered with my creative process. There was never a point when he was like, ‘I need to come in and play big brother and show you how to do this.’ He let me figure it out, and it feels better to win like that. It feels better winning knowing that I figured this thing out on my own and if it wouldn’t have worked, I would have been OK with bumping my head and failing on my own terms, rather than winning on somebody else’s.
Safe to say these artists feel secure in Jay’s hands…can’t wait to hear new music from the both of them.
