Gwyneth Paltrow’s N-Word Tweet Sends ‘The Dream’ on a Rant
Gwyneth Paltrow, best friend to popular diva Beyonce, has gotten herself into a bit of hot water. Paltrow, who apparently didn’t realize how offensive the ‘n-word’ still can be in the black community, tweeted a photo this past Friday while attending a “Watch The Throne” concert in Paris.
The photo was of Paltrow, Jay-Z, Kanye, and The Dream dancing around on stage to the hit song “N*ggas in Paris”. However, the photo wasn’t the cause of the controversy….it was the caption itself that sent everyone into an uproar…
Ni**as in paris for real
@mrteriusnash (the dream) tyty, beehigh
Paltrow quickly went from “the popular actress that hangs out with Beyonce”…to “a complete racist with no sensitivity towards the African American community”.
Famous producer and singer, The Dream, has stepped in to defend Paltrow, taking blame for the tweet.
Fyi Sorry for the Confu I typed Ni**as in paris for real from Gwens Phone my bad I was Fkd up please excuse it! We were lit!
Of course no one believed that, and The Dream has since become the victim of several tweet bangers. His timeline has been flooded with his reaction to those who are really upset by what was said:
Ni**a doesn’t have any power over me which is why this will be the last thing I say about it. A word means something when u react to it! Context is everything. Meaning it in the context as a Song which is how we Sold it to the world!!!!!! it is what it is. I’ve seen people not use the Word at all and have been the most racist people rather than use it in the context as the song it self. Actually Ni**az was in Paris! Lol stop wasting gods time Do something with your life! Love not War.
A(nd) Again I take full Blame! Trust me if I felt a mfkr was trying me on that Tip that was that close to me I wouldve been arrested. Be Nice.”
The Dream also responded to a fan about Paltrow,
Sure Attack her you know she’s not going to do anything, you know in your heart she didn’t mean it in anyway.
The world is just full of Bull s***ters who act like they give a s*** haven’t did one righteous act in there lives. Its a Hot Topic because people aint got s*** To Do! Period. Say what u want. No one called Trayvon Ni**a before he shot him it was an action. Racism is an Action!
I disagree that the word no longer has power, but let’s be honest…it’s the name of the song. If anyone is to blame, it’s Jay-Z and Kanye West for making a song they knew would become a mainstream hit, and titling it with a word that supposedly only one race can use. They’re referring to themselves as the “N*ggas in Paris”, and so are the millions of other people who have been rapping the song daily since it came out. Did you think it was only Black people that knew the words? Or did you think all of the Caucasians in the audience just sat silently as the song was performed? I think not! Gwyneth Paltrow is no different from all of the others who are joining in on the song. She simply is getting reprimanded for saying it as a famous person.
If you think what Paltrow said was offensive…take a look at this French Presidential Candidate’s campaign video! He used the song as his background music! Again, if you’re angry…look to Jay-Z and Kanye.
