America’s Next Top Model: British Invasion came to an end Wednesday night. It came down to U.K contestant Sophie Sumner and American contender Laura LaFrate. The finale consisted of the girls partaking in the annual Covergirl commercial and print ad shoot, as well as the final runway show at the MGM Macao, featuring Forever 21.
But before the lights, camera, action…some major ANTM drama took place. Laura had a panic attack and had to be rushed off to the hospital, soon after receiving a pep talk from Tyra Banks, the show’s host. The talking-to must have worked because Laura killed it at the Vogue Italia shoot and brought back her A-game.

The actual runway was a much tighter game than one would predict. Viewers and judges had expected Sophie to dominate the runway, but Laura exceeded everyone’s expectations. Sophie and Laura not only had to look good in what they wore, but had to pace themselves according to lighting cues and technology, on top of having less than 90 seconds for wardrobe changes. I would say trying to be America’s Next Top Model is a pretty stressful day job.
At the end of it all, a winner was announced.
Sophie Sumner took home the prize. This was her second trip to the final two, but it seems that her run on America’s Next Top Model ended on a much happier note than it did on Britain’s Next Top Model.
Congratulations to Sophie!
