This week, popular BET hit show The Game suffered a huge loss when it came to light that the show would be down two main characters, Pooch Hall and Tia Mowry Hardict, in the upcoming 6th season.
Mowry herself tweeted the confirmation:
Just wanted to let all my fans know that I will not be returning to The Game for season 6. It was an incredible run and I had lots of fun.
Some sensed this was coming, when asked in April if he’d be back for the 6th season, Pooch replied a quick but weighty, “Things happen.” Tia has been more vocal on the split, taking to “Sway In The Morning” to promote her new book, Tia and Tamera,
You know what, it’s all good. It really is. I’ve been on the show 5 years. I had a great time on the show. I’m very happy with what I did. I love Melanie so much that sometimes I forgot to shut her off. There is no hard feelings…
Tia seems to be busy with her book, and as for Pooch, he’s already got himself a pilot for Showtime, Ray Donovan.
This leaves BET to put in some extra hours rewriting and casting new faces on The Game for the upcoming season. However, they are holding onto some hope that Pooch and Tia will return for at least seven guest spots.
Not only are Tia and Pooch saying farewell to BET, but Terrence J. and Rocsi Diaz will also be departing the cable network. According to reports, the pair of popular hosts will be leaving 106 & Park after 7 years.
Rocsi and Terrence first graced the 106 & Park stage in 2005 after they were discovered by BET during the National ‘New Faces’ Talent Search. Now it seems the two have a desire to put down the mic and pick up a couple scripts.
Terrence will continue his career as an actor, already landing roles in Think Like A Man, Burlesque, and Stomp The Yard 2. Rocsi will continue hosting her radio show, ‘Rocsi On The Radio’ and plans to pursue acting as well.
Good luck to all of them….but where does this leave BET??
