President Obama is clearly not a person who easily changes his mind…well not when it comes to his personal opinion, at least. The Commander in Chief referred to Kanye West as a jackass prior to an ABC interview in 2009.

The interview took place after the MTV Video Music Awards in which Kanye shocked the world by interrupting young country singer Taylor Swift during her acceptance speech. 

Obama believed his comments about Kanye were off the record, but still has not changed his views on the superstar rapper. Recently, the U.S. president was asked during a political fundraiser in New York, which hip hop artist he prefers, Jay-Z or Kanye….Obama smiled and responded Jay-Z. 

He then went on to say, “Although I like Kanye. He’s a Chicago guy. Smart. He’s very talented.”  When asked,“Even though you called him a jackass?” Obama didn’t deny this, he simply said,“He’s still a jackass. but he’s talented.”                                                                                                                                                                                                             

This was honestly a stupid question, with the sole intention of bringing up the “jackass” comment. I think it’s pretty clear which rapper Obama prefers. He’s been naming Jay-Z as his favorite rapper since the beginning of his candidacy, and he’s even invited him into his home, the White House.
