Halle Berry is officially engaged to boyfriend, now fiancee, Olivier Martinez. Rumors of their engagement surfaced this January when Halle was spotted wearing an engagement ring, while the two enjoyed a romantic lunch together.

Halle and Olivier have been an item since 2010, after filming the movie Dark Tide together. 

The couple has had to deal with quite a lot since the Perfect Stranger star has had to go through an intense custody battle with ex-boyfriend, and father of her child, Gabriel Aubry. Halle and Gabriel had been together four years before ending their relationship in April of 2010. Unfortunately the two didn’t become friends after the break-up, but instead a nasty custody battle ensued, in which Gabriel was accused of being harmful to their two year old daughter Nahla. He had also reportedly become extremely disrespectful to Halle calling her racial slurs. A rep for Halle told People Magazine that she had  ”serious concerns for her daughter’s well-being while in the care of her father.” 

Olivier has also had to deal with Halle being stalked and receiving death threats from Robert Hoskins. The Monster’s Ball actress had requested a court allow her leave to Paris with Olivier and Nahla, in order to flee Madonna’s ex-stalker, who had recently escaped from a mental institution. 

All of this did not keep the Parisian actor from proposing to Halle, and he recently confirmed their engagement to the Miami Herald saying, “Yes, of course it’s true.” This comes as a little bit of a shock, since the Oscar winner stated publicly on Oprah in 2004, “I will never marry again.” Clearly, you should never say never.
